Delilah Atkinson is the Founder of Knowing Nanny and a firm believer that personality is the key to having happy nanny placements. She started to develop Knowing Nanny in 2006, the year she had her first daughter. She thought long and hard about what kind of a nanny the family wanted and she knew it was hard to identify that in an interview alone. She then worked with a team of occupational psychologists to develop Knowing Nanny and now, 3 years in, it has helped families and carers around the globe to have the ideal placements.

Janet Burchett serves as a community health nurse educating families and children in school, camp, and settings as remote as the Amazon jungle. She holds a master’s in nursing and is certified as a clinical nurse leader. Her experience includes a background in emergency nursing and women’s health. She has also completed the CDC's disaster preparedness training. Her passion is teaching and empowering others, especially poor and vulnerable populations, with the tools and knowledge to improve and maintain their best health. She believes wholeheartedly in a holistic approach to health and that prevention is always worth a pound of cure. Besides her calling as a nurse, she loves being with her family and all the adventures that come from being a mom of three young children. Together, they enjoy reading, creating, singing, exploring nature, and learning about other cultures and languages.

Sue Downey is a nanny and has been since she accidentally found the profession 25 years ago. She started out as a live-out nanny caring for 4 boys in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then moved to the Philadelphia area as a live-in nanny and has stayed in the suburbs of Philly ever since. Sue has worked with many kinds of families and has cared for children of all ages, birth through teens.
